The section ensures participation of both men and women in economic, social and political spheres. It focuses much on youth out of school, and vulnerable women, particularly single mothers, widows, orphans and vulnerable children. Since early 2013, the GAD section has been mobilizing, forming and supervising Saving and Internal Lending Communities (SILC) groups in the Ruvuma region. This section emphasizes increasing ownership of resources including financial and land among women and youth to achieve sustainable development. The section also aims to reduce Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and uphold human dignity.
